Leaving from Cusco to Machupicchu on a one-day tour means taking advantage of a light day very wisely if you have a short vacation, since visiting Peru means to visit Machupicchu.

For that we will get up early and in our private transport we will go to Ollantaytambo town,  there is the train station, from where we will continue by train along a quite enigmatic route following along the flank of the Vilcanota or Urubamba river, this trip offers us to enjoy different landscapes nestled at foothills of the mountains where we will find Inca constructions that were functionally important in the time of the Incas,  that ones we can see intact without having been damaged by the invading Spaniards, after almost two hours of travel we will arrive to Aguas Calientes town, a place located very close to the citadel of Machupicchu and from where we will take our bus that will take us to Inca citadel of Machupicchu through a road that will rise to the top of the mountains where this citadel or Llaqta Inca was built.

Once we manage to pass the main entrance to the Inca citadel, our Guide will dazzle us with a clear explanation about such a wonderful Inca citadel.

Machupicchu is the clearest example of Inca organization and architecture. These archaeological remains are evidence of exquisite engineering and urban planning organization that was very advanced for its time, an entire citadel built for the understanding of all the sciences of its time, harmoniously understood. A citadel never found by the Spanish and physical evidence of what is today known as one of the seven wonders of the world.

After a fascinating tour through its narrow aisles that contrast with its most spectacular panoramic views, we will return to Aguas Calientes town, where after enjoying a lunch of Peruvian haute cuisine, we will prepare to return to Cusco following the same route we went.
